Donations and Sponsorship
SCAI does not receive any financial support from the government and relies solely on donations from the public. As a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation 100% of your sponsorship funds go directly to supporting the children. Other general expenses are covered by our other fundraising initiatives, so your sponsorship money can go straight to where it is needed the most, the children.
- Sponsor a child at Sunrise Orphanage for only AUD$39 a month which will cover his/her basic necessities; food, health care, clothing and education OR shelter, carers, household and recreation.
As a sponsor you will receive a photograph and background information of the child you are supporting, updated annually. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter with updates on events at SCAI and Sunrise in Nepal, as well as things like exam results, letters from your child and any other relevant news.
- General donations to cover ad hoc general needs.
- Building fund; Monthly or one-off donations to Sunrise Children’s Village building fund, which will provide a permanent home for 80-100 current and future children of Sunrise on the outskirts of Kathmandu.
- One-off donations; to be used for unexpected emergencies, insurance and savings funds for the children
SCAI is heavily focused on training and development so the children and staff of Sunrise can become self-sufficient in the long term and break the cycle of poverty for themselves and the local community in which they live.
