Donations and Sponsorship
SCAI is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation. It does not receive any government funding, and as such depends entirely on the generous donations of businesses and individuals.
SCAI continually strives to keep administration costs in Australia and Nepal to an absolute minimum, with all work in Australia being conducted on a volunteer basis.
On 16 June 2010 SCAI was endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR), so any donations over $2 made after that date are tax deductible. All tax deductible donations are held in a separate Public Fund, administered by 3 Trustees based in Adelaide.
How you can helpSponsor a child at Sunrise Orphanage for only AUD$46 per month which will cover his/her basic necessities such as food, education, medical care, clothing, shelter, carers and other household needs.
As a sponsor you will receive a photograph and background information of the child you are supporting, updated annually. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter with updates on events at SCAI and Sunrise in Nepal, as well as things like exam results, letters from your child and any other relevant news.
*Please note, child sponsorships are limited to the number of children at the orphanage, so please contact emma@scai.org.au to find out if a child is available to sponsor.General donations of AUD$46 per month to cover emergency medical care and other unexpected expenses.
Building fund; Monthly or one-off donations to Sunrise Children’s Village building fund, which will provide a permanent home for 100 current and future children.
One-off donations; to be used for unexpected emergencies, insurance and savings funds for the children
SCAI is heavily focused on training and development so the children and staff of Sunrise can become self-sufficient in the long term and break the cycle of poverty for themselves and the local community in which they live.
