Don’t miss out on our exciting Sunrise events in 2011!
‘Dining at Sunset; Building Hope at Sunrise’ Gala Dinners
The events will again be unique, fun filled night of entertainment and will include a delicious 3 course dinner, premium wines, upbeat music, stunning Bollywood dancers, a lively market offering authentic Nepalese items for sale and live and silent auctions with a range of great items not to be missed!
Proceeds from this year’s events will go towards the building of Sunrise Children’s Village, which will incorporate a permanent home for the current and future children of Sunrise Orphanage, a community training and development centre and a community school. Dining at Sunset, Bringing Hope at Sunrise "Adelaide August 2010"
Our 2nd "Dining at Sunset, Bringing Hope at Sunrise" event was held in Adelaide on Saturday 7th August, with almost 300 guests attending. The main focus was to raise enough money to enable us to purchase land in Kathmandu on which to build our permanent Sunrise home. We are delighted to say the night was an overwhelming success, raising just over $135,000 profit, which, combined with proceeds from last year’s fundraising events and our cumulative savings, will enable us to buy land on the outskirts of Kathmandu in the near future.
Sincere thanks to all the volunteers, sponsors and everyone that attended the event and made it such a fun night and for your incredible generosity, as well as those that kindly made donations but couldn't join us on the night.

Dining at Sunset, Bringing Hope at Sunrise "Melbourne and Adelaide events July 2009"
Both events were an overwhelming success with around 200 guests at each event. It
was the 2nd event held in Melbourne and the 1st ever in Adelaide. The guests enjoyed
a delicious meal, entertainment, dancing, great company and a great new DVD of the
Sunrise children and SCAI's other project work in Nepal. The feedback for both events
was very encouraging and was reflected in the generosity of the guests, via bidding
for live and silent auction prizes, buying a range of Nepali items at the 'market
stall' and a range of donations and sponsorships.
We would like to thank everyone sincerely who supported these events.
Sunrise at Night – Mothers' Day Celebration a Great Success!
SCAI’s first Mothers' Day event was held in 2007 in Sydney. The night was a real family affair and managed to attract a record crowd of 450 people. Mother's were spoilt on the night with Mother's Day Cards drawn by the children at Sunrise Orphanage and loveheart shaped cookies! The night saw many superb performances from a variety of traditional and modern Nepalese and Indian performers. SCAI was overwhelmed by the generosity of those attending and is looking forward to the next event!
