Our Work - Sunrise Children's Village
In line with our philosophy of promoting sustainability and self-sufficiency, we are working towards buying land and building a permanent home for the children. We are looking for a property that is;
- Situated on the suburban edges of Kathmandu to minimise the children’s exposure to pollution
- Adequate clean water supply
- Large enough to build four houses, each of which can comfortably house 20-25 children, to grow crops and graze animals.
This will give the Sunrise children a stable, permanent home that cannot be taken from them. The crops and animals will give them the opportunity to become semi self-sufficient and earn their own money by selling the surplus. Sunrise will also be able to provide employment to some of the children after they have finished school or university and they want to enter the workforce.
Building plans and outline of costs to be posted here soon.
